Stimulated to death?

Social media can be a great tool if used properly (haha), but the designers and developers of these technologies knew well beforehand how very irrational humans are and our proclivity to become addicted to attention, validation and stimulation. These technologies give us constant hits of dopamine which hi-jack our reward system and turn us into stimulation seeking junkies. We are never quite able to get off of the hedonic treadmill.

We are being played like fiddles in an orchestra, and we assume that this is normal, only because we all have gradually been conditioned to do so. Do any of us remember a time before we were constantly inundated with notifications and pings at every hour of the day?

We are told what to think. What is hot and what is not. What to feel. Told what is real. Shouldn’t we be taught “how to think, rather than what to think”?

Take back your mind, take back your life, take back your imagination and take back all the inner and outer forces that enable your creative power. Cut out the distractions, disregard the trivial, and your life will begin to belong to you again.

The greatest possession of all, is to own ones mind, free and clear of any mental chains, whether imposed inwardly or outwardly, which impede the expression and fulfillment of who you are and can be.
