What Could be the Fate of Metis Once Aave Deploys? Could There be a repetition of History?

Aave is a decentralised financial protocol that facilitates the borrowing and lending of cryptocurrencies by users. It’s been operating under the name of ETHLend since 2017, and in 2018 it became Aave. Since then, the Aave protocol has evolved into one of the main Defi protocols in the Ethereum ecosystem and is now being used for other crypto networks as well. We’ll explore the history of Aave deployment in this article, as well as what can happen with Metis networks in the future.

Aave has started as a lending protocol on the Ethereum network. Its first version of the ERC-20 token was launched in 2019, allowing users to borrow and use Ether-ETH and a few other ERC 20 tokens. Innovative features such as short term loans that allow borrowers to take out borrowing with no collateral for a period of time and the ability to choose between fixed or floating interest rates have attracted customers rapidly.

Version 2 of Aave was released on Ethereum in 2020, adding a number of new features like support for additional assets, native credit delegation, and gas improvements. It also introduced the idea of “money markets,” which enables the deposit and borrowing against numerous assets in a single pool. It is noticed that the the TVL increased by 340% ($17.5B — $76.9B) in 6 months.

Aave announced a further expansion to the Polygon network, previously called Matic, at the beginning of 2021. Polygon is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling protocol, which allows transactions to be performed more quickly and at lower cost. Aave’s deployment has made the protocol accessible with reduced gas charges and faster transaction times, enabling users to use it on Polygon. Within a short time, Aave in Polygon had become popular and now has over $4 billion of assets locked up under contracts; with an increased TVL of 506% ($1.04B — $6.3B) in 2 months.

Aave has been launched on more blockchain networks, such as Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche and Fantom. Users will be able to access Aave’s lending and borrowing features across various blockchain ecosystems through deployment on these networks. As a result of concerns regarding centralization and safety, the deployment has been met with some criticism from the DeFi community. Aave has successfully established itself on a number of ecosystems, and the protocol is attracting large numbers of users. Several new elements and improvements have also been made by Aave: the introduction of new tokens and markets, integration of Chainlink’s decentralized price oracle.

The TVL stat for these blockchains are as follows; TVL for BSC increased by 60% ($7.8B — $12.5B) in 2 months, TVL for Fantom increased by 282% ($1.1B- $4.2B) in 2 months and Avalanche TVL increased by 252% ($541M — $1.9B) in 2 months.

Aave will soon be deployed on the Metis network, which is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. Metis is a distributed platform allowing users to build their own solution for Layer 2 on top of its infrastructure. It is estimated that the deployment of Aave on Metis will bring its lending and borrowing services to an additional audience through use of METIS’s scaling technology. A reduction in gas charges and greater speed of transactions are also envisaged for users as a result of this deployment.

We can anticipate the protocol gaining tremendous traction within the Metis community once it is deployed on MetisDAO. With the help of MetisDAO, developers may create decentralized apps (dApps) with higher transaction throughput and cheaper costs on the Ethereum platform. Users will be able to access the Aave protocol with reduced costs and quicker transaction speeds compared to Ethereum thanks to MetisDAO’s implementation of the protocol. As a result, more people will be able to use Aave, which will boost the protocol’s adoption. This will likely increase adoption of Aave’s services and drive more liquidity to the Metis ecosystem.

Users will also be able to exploit the special features of METISDAO when Aave is deployed in MetisDAO. In order to obtain maximum returns and develop innovative investment strategies, users will be able to use Aave in conjunction with additional DeFi protocols on METISDAO such as Uniswap and SushiSwap. MetisDAO will also allow the development of custom applications that can be integrated with Aave, which might result in developing new and innovative use cases for this protocol. Additionally, Aave’s deployment on Metis is expected to increase the interoperability between different blockchain networks.

It is also worth noting that Aave has successfully deployed across a variety of blockchain ecosystems. It is expected that Aave’s deployment in the METISDAO will be of no exception, and we would expect to see considerable momentum behind this protocol within the Metis community. It would be possible to create new and innovative use cases for this protocol through the integration of Aave with other Defi protocols on METisDAO, as well as by developing custom dApps. The possibilities for DeFi are endless in the case of Aave and MetisDAO.
